We are a group of creatives from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that believe in the existence of happiness. More than a brand, we create enlightened cultural movements since 1997. Based in good energies and beautiful frequencies: We believe that solar rays enlighten the soul. We believe in all colors and shapes that nature brings to our eyes, to our feelings. We believe in local culture, and we keep it alive. We believe in quality, we adore details, and the emotions created by these elements, because a powerful product inspires positive transformations in everyone and everywhere. We also believe in hugs, or in Portuguese - we believe in “abraços”. And once we believe, we are. Just like that. Welcome to our magic, and feel it in your soul.
From a small stand to a lifestyle
Brazilians quickly fell in love with the brand, the booth became a store, that grew into more stores, and now FARM is Brazil’s most recognized brand.
With over 20 years of history, FARM Rio is Brazil’s most beloved clothing and lifestyle brand. The story began in 1997 in Rio at a local independent fashion market called Babilonia Feira Hype where founders Katia Barros and Marcello Bastos took their chances on launching a clothing line that embodies the feminine spirit and vibrant colors of Rio.
One Purchase = One Tree Planted
Nature has been our greatest inspiration here at FARM Rio for the past 23 years. We believe it is part of our duty help protect nature, to give back to the environment and to help recover endangered forest ecosystems like those in the Amazon rainforest, the largest Brazilian biome and our home.
We started planting trees a few years ago in Brazil, our home country, both in the Atlantic Forest and in the Amazon with partners the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation and the Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazonas, respectively. Now with the expansion of our brand to the US and other countries, we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization that aids in global reforestation, to scale these initiatives even more.
For each purchase* on our website, in our stores and at other authorized retailers, we donate one tree to be planted in the Amazon rainforest.
Up until May 2020 we have already donated 50.000 trees to be planted in the Amazon. In the end of the planting season, we will share a complete report with our consumers.
By planting trees in the Amazon rainforest, we are not only helping to provide and conserve the habitat for hundreds of species of animals, we are recovering previously depleted land and enriching its soil with nutrients. It also provides jobs for hundreds of farming families. All of One Tree Planted’s farms are Fair Trade Certified and 25% of its farmers are women, further promoting ethical practices.
